North Adams Community Memorial Library

. . . search for a title?

Steps to search the databases for a title.

You have a specific author or title that you want to look for. How do I do that?

To search the catalog for the North Adams Community Memorial Library:

  • Click on the gray button to the left that says "Search for Books and other Library Materials"
  • Once on our circulation system site, click on "Log In" which is located in the upper right corner. Log in using your library card number and your pin. Your pin is the last four digits of the phone number that you gave the library.
  • Type any keywords, the author's name, or words from the title into the search box. If we own the item, and it has a bar code, it will appear in the results screen. If it does not appear, we still might have it, but it just doesn't yet have a bar code. Call the library for further information.

The next step depends on if you want to look for a downloadable book (ebook or audio book) or if you would rather have a bound book in your hands.

If you want a bound book in your hands, click on the MeLCat button. In the search box type any key words - author, title, subject, etc. - whatever you know. At that point you can follow the instructions located under "How Do I. . .request an item?" Or, you can call or email the library.

If you want to borrow an ebook or audio book, click on the blue Overdrive button. It says "Enjoy ebooks and audiobooks". At that point, you can follow the directions found under "How Do I. . .borrow free ebooks or audio books?"

As always, at any step along the way, call or email the library. I will be happy to help you with the steps or to search for your item.
